Jaguar XK8: Classics World gets behind the wheel of a modern classic
Elegant styling, V8 power and all the comfort you would expect from a Jaguar grand tourer – more than 25 years after its launch, the Jaguar XK8 still has plenty of appeal.
For the latest video from our ongoing partnership with Classics World, Joe headed to the Horse and Groom in Essex to meet Peter Best Insurance Services customer Karl and take a closer look at his Jaguar XK8.
Living with a Jaguar XK8
Launched in the 1990s as the successor to the XJS, the XK8 combined traditional Jaguar grand touring character with a new generation of V8 power. Alongside the naturally aspirated XK8 came the more powerful supercharged XKR, giving buyers two very different interpretations of Jaguar's new GT.
But what are these cars actually like to own today?
In the video, Joe takes Karl's XK8 out on the road and explores what makes the model such an appealing modern classic, from its styling and V8 engine to its luxurious interior and the experience of living with one more than two decades after it first appeared.
Bringing our customers' cars to Classics World
Karl's XK8 is the latest customer car to feature as part of our ongoing partnership with Classics World.
Throughout the year, we've been bringing together Peter Best customers and the Classics World team to showcase some fascinating cars and, importantly, the people who own them.
The filming days give owners the opportunity to share their cars and their experiences with a much wider audience, while giving Classics World access to the varied range of classics and modern classics owned by Peter Best customers.
For us, it's also an opportunity to celebrate the cars our customers care about rather than simply talking about classic car insurance.
And Karl's XK8 has certainly attracted some attention – the video received thousands of views within its first day of going live.
